Exchange 2007 SP1: Piblic Folder Troubleshooting

To find out all activity in the public folder, first step to turn on the pipeline tracing for the server. But make sure you check the disk space as this tracing will log all email content of the organization and also it is privacy issue. Please read the “Caution” of this link:

1. Check if it is already turned on: Get-TransportServer | fl

PipelineTracingEnabled : False
ContentConversionTracingEnabled : False
PipelineTracingPath : C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\TransportRoles\Logs\PipelineTracing
PipelineTracingSenderAddress :

2. Check if the pipeline folder exist in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\TransportRoles\Logs\PipelineTracing

3. Turn of Pipeline tracing for specific email address or for the organization:


Make sure you “turned off” the pipeline after troubleshooting
